Sunless tanning or better known as ‘fake tan’ is the process where chemical is used on the skin in order to avoid blotchy, streaked and orange look. However, teenagers are more prone to tanning beds, as they believe that it is safer and cheaper. The disadvantage of the sunless salons is its high price.

- Authorization letter from the parents as age proof
In California, medical prescription is necessary for skin tanning, whereas in Maryland the inclusion of the above three is necessary for using tanning products.
